They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
This photo captures three things… GRATITUDE, FUN & FRIENDSHIP!
Last week, I went to Mexico for a friends wedding. We left on Saturday and flew into Puerto Vallarta.
We stayed in the most beautiful home called the mountain house in Sayulita. (a fantastic little surf town in Mexico).
Was my diet on point?
Kinda…. I ate burritos, taco’s, and drank more tequila and mescal than I have in my entire life thanks to the bride’s father (The don) and my fellow groomsman.
Did I workout?
You bet I did.
- I swam
- Walked Around Town
- Hit The Local Gym for about 30 minutes 3x throughout the week.
- Danced For 5 Hours Straight One Night
I knew going to Mexico that I would not be able to maintain my regular routine and schedule.
I knew that I would not be able to eat the way I usually eat or work out the way I typically work out.
All of that was totally cool because that was not the reason I was there.
The end result was me coming back, weighing less than before I left.
Even though I consumed more food and worked-out less for the week.
I consider this a massive WIN!
But that was not the biggest WIN I experienced on this trip.
The biggest WIN I experienced during this week was the building of new friendships and investing in others that are really important to me.
What is the takeaway from all of this?
You are going to get in life what you nurture and put your time into.
Want a better body? Workout and Eat Well, Consistently!
Want to feel better? Prioritize Sleep & Stop Eating Foods That Make You Feel Like Hell!
Want a better relationship with your spouse? Invest time into it and look to be the standard they want for their relationship.
The truth is you cannot fake progress in any area of your life.
It requires time, effort, emotion, and work.
It requires you to mess up, stumble, and learn.
Most people do not want to put in the work because they feel like they are afraid they will not get anything in return.
My goal for you this week is simple!
Focus on nurturing the things that are important to you.
Like a flower needs water and light. Your goals and aspirations need time and effort.
